During a press conference Monday, Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump was asked how he felt about criticism he received from Sen. Elizabeth Warren just hours after she unleashed a tirade against him on social media.

Trump responded by calling her “the Indian,” referring to Warren's Native American ancestry.
“Who is that, the Indian? You mean the Indian?” Trump asked when reporters confronted him.
Warren branded Trump a “loser” earlier Monday, pointing to his failed businesses and multiple bankruptcies.
Let’s be honest - @realDonaldTrump is a loser. Count all his failed businesses. See how he cheated people w/ scams like Trump U.

Warren followed up with a series of tweets, criticizing Trump and his campaign on multiple levels.
We cannot elect wannabe tyrants to the White House. Not now, not ever. It’s up to all of us us to stop @realDonaldTrump .

.@RealDonaldTrump is “cool with being called an authoritarian,” isn't upset at Hitler comparisons & thinks we won’t fight back? WRONG!

Trump told reporters that he thinks Warren’s critique is inappropriate. “The problem with this country right now is it’s so divided,” he said. "People like Elizabeth Warren really have to get their act together because it’s going to stay divided."
Why is it that @realDonaldTrump can call himself the “unity” candidate while basing his campaign on racism, sexism, xenophobia & hatred?

It is not the first time Warren has expressed her opinion about Trump, neither is it a first for Trump to bring up Warren’s heritage. He did so just last week in an interview with New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd that was published over the weekend.
When asked what he thought of criticism coming from Warren, Trump said: “Her whole life was based on a fraud. She got into Harvard and all that because she said she was a minority.”
“She’s got about as much Indian blood as I have,” Trump added.

Ironically, last summer it was revealed that Trump lied about his own heritage, claiming his grandfather was Swedish although he was actually German.
Warren, who identified herself as "Native American" while she was a professor at Harvard Law School, claims her great-great-great grandmother on her mother's side was Cherokee.
Warren is considered to be one of the most sought-after endorsements in the Democratic Party, yet she has not endorsed Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders up until this point.
