The U.S. National Hurricane Center report that tropical depression #17 has formed in the Atlantic.

The system is currently moving northwards at 3 miles per hour with maximum sustained winds of 35 miles per hour.
The center of the system is approximately 875 miles west-southwest of Portugal's Azores islands.
According to meteorologists, the depression is on course to gain strength and become a named storm late Monday or early Tuesday. It is expected to change direction and move towards the east.
Ophelia is next on the Tropical Cyclone Name list.
