The Committee for the Freedom of Milagro Sala said the decision to transfer Sala is “arbitrary and contrary to the provisions” by the Inter-American Court of Human Rights and the Supreme Court of Justice.

On Tuesday, Argentine social leader Milagro Sala was transferred to General Güemes federal prison on the order of Judge Pablo Pullen Llermanos, according to teleSUR citing an unnamed source.

“The notification was made tonight, but on the ID card there is no substantiation regarding the measure that will be denounced before international organizations (...) From the Criminal Court where the hearing of the trial known as 'Pibes Villeros' takes place will be directly transferred to Güemes,” the facility said.

Additionally, Llermanos declared that “the maximum security measures” must be taken both for Sala's transfer and for the times she has to travel to Jujuy for the different judiciary hearings.

The Committee for the Freedom of Milagro Sala said the decision to transfer Sala is “arbitrary and contrary to the provisions” by the Inter-American Court of Human Rights and the Supreme Court of Justice.

"The governor (Gerardo) Morales and Judge Pullen Llermanos continue with their constant policy of harassment against Milagro...,” the committee said, after which the institution denounced that the authorities want the social activist dead.

Sala has been detained since January 2016 and was at Alto Juvenile Criminal Court of Jujuy until August of last year, when she was transferred to El Carmen for house arrest - prior to the revocation of this status.

The Argentine social leader, who was recently found unconscious, is charged with allegedly inciting crimes and riots. Multiple protests have been held calling for the release of the social justice figure.

#Argentina Judge Pullen Llermanos ordered the revocation of the detention of Milagro Sala in El Carmen and transfer to the Federal Criminal of Salta today. From @ComitexMilagro they denounce that they want the social leader dead. Here the complete resolution @teleSURtv
