The draft resolution was presented by the US ambassador, Nikki Haley, to "send a clear message to Pyongyang."

The Security Council of the United Nations has unanimously approved new sanctions against North Korea on Friday, informed the ambassador of Japan in the organism, Koro Bessho.

The United States ambassador to the UN, Nikki Haley, indicated during her speech that this initiative, presented by them, "sends a clear message to Pyongyang that one more challenge will cause more punishment and isolation "

"The arrogance and hostility of North Korea against any productive (decision) have put the country on a destructive path," Haley said.

This new resolution mandates the repatriation of nationals working abroad, some 100,000 citizens, who provide foreign currency to the North Korean Government, as well as the prohibition of almost 90 percent of its exports of refined petroleum products.

In addition, this set of sanctions limits the supply of crude oil to the Asian nation to four million barrels per year and bans its exports of machinery, wood and other goods.

The US delegation presented the draft resolution after the test of an intercontinental ballistic missile by Pyongyang, on November 28, which made an impact near Japan.
