If he were a modern-day Noah on an outer-space mission, he wouldn't choose same-sex couples.

U.S. Rep. Louis Gohmert, Texas Republican, went a on 5 minute rant on the floor of the House of Representatives about “unnatural” and “preserve” homosexuals and transgender people.

The far-right legislator said, "Whether it was an asteroid coming, something that would end humanity on Earth, as dinosaurs were ended at one time … You’re wanting to save humankind for posterity, basically a modern-day Noah ... If you can decide what 40 people you put on the spacecraft that would save humanity, how many of those would be same-sex couples?"

In his bizarre, but typical tirade, Gohmert also pointed to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders to categorize transgender people as “disordered”.

"A man that didn't know which he was," Gohmert said, referring to some undefined time in the past, "was pitied, loved, encouraged, but educated people said that's perverse."

Gohmet has repeatedly suggested that same-sex couples should be shipped to an island, to see if in a 100 years they would survive.

He joined the calls for a boycott of Target over its pro-Transgender bathroom policy.

Showing his conspiracy theory side, he has said that radical organizations are sending pregnant women to the U.S. to give birth to “natural-born terrorists.”

He also accused the Obama administration of planning a takeover of Texas during Jade Helm military exercises in the summer of 2015.
