Reports: Kidnappers Of Killed Ecuadorean Journalists Arrested

From the authorities reports, "Roberto" would have been the person who intercepted the three members of the journalist team in the rural community of Mataje, in Ecuador.

The Unified Action Groups for Personal Freedom (Gaula), a specialized Colombian police force, captured Monday the person accused of being the alleged kidnapper of the Ecuadorian El Comercio journalist team. He is known as "Roberto," and is a member of the Oliver Sinisterra  Front an illegal armed group that kidnapped and killed the journalist team.

According to authorities reports, "Roberto" was the person who intercepted the three members of the journalist team in the rural community of Mataje in Ecuador. Then using a scheme of lies he took them into Colombia.

The Gaula team also captured a person known as "Otto," who is allegedly the head of the support network in the La Guayacana Sector for the Oliver Sinisterra Front, commanded by Patricio Arizala Vernaza also known as "Guacho."

The El Comercio journalist team members were: journalist Javier Ortega, photographer Paul Rivas and driver Efrain Segarra. On March 26th, members of the armed group Oliver Sinisterra Front kidnapped Ecuador's El Comercio newspaper team who were later killed under unclear circumstances, on April 13, Ecuadorean President Lenin Moreno confirmed the triple execution.
