Iranian reformist and moderate groups, which will compete in Friday's elections for parliament and the Assembly of Experts, are confident of achieving a "victory" that will serve to support the policies of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani against conservatives.
Taha Abdejodai, a parliamentary candidate for a list of reformists, moderates and independents, told EFE that the Iranian people will give support to Rouhani in the legislative elections for the Iranian president's role in "reviving the economy."
Some 55 million Iranians are eligible to vote on Friday's two crucial elections for the 290-seat Parliament and the 88-member Assembly of Experts
The supreme leader, Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, warned against enemy plots to infiltrate the elections, calling on the nation to remain vigilant.
Meanwhile, President Rouhani urged people to vote, saying participation was needed "to build the future of the country with plenty of hope."
