Priest Caught 'Sexting' With Student Remains Clergy Member

Melvin Perez, who was removed from the San Jose Salesian School, in Santa Ana, El Salvador, has turned-up at the San Nicolas parish in Guatemala - despite authorities claiming he was under investigation for allegations of sexual deviancy against a minor.

According to La Prensa, Melvin Perez, an academic coordinator at the Catholic school, San Jose Salesian, in Santa Ana, El Salvador was alleged to have been dismissed after a video circulated appearing to show Perez performing sexually-explicit acts for a student.

However, ElSalvador.com have reported that Perez - who also served as the school Priest, has been transferred to Guatemala to "remove him from the scandal, where he is currently serving as the assistant to the parish Priest at the San Nicolas parish in the city of Quetzaltenango.

Perez was the academic coordinator of the third cycle and baccalaureate at San Jose Salesian, but has since been prohibited access to the school and banned from direct and indirect contact with students, as announced by school authorities through an official statement.

Parishioners of the San Nicolas parish have shared images of the Eucharistic celebration on January 31, 2019, the day of San Juan Bosco, in which the priest Perez appears, wearing the official dress, accompanying the parish Priest of said church.

During the Eucharist, according to the publication, young Salesian students were blessed.

This comes after Perez sent "at least one video" to the student, which contained sexually explicit behavior, according to La Prensa, along with multiple text messages with sexually explicit, and inappropriate content.
