Twenty-seven apartments have been damaged by the fire and the explosion, none have been reported injured.
A powerful explosion has ripped through a Paris Apartment in the city's 19th arrondissement. It is unclear whether people were injured or killed as firefighters continue to battle with the fire.
The explosion occurred in a building located at Macdonald Boulevard and Pierre Mollaret, where it ripped through the 1st to the 5th floor of the eight story building. A video of the actual explosion, which occurred at around 9 PM local time, has been widely shared on social media.
While the around 100 firefighters at the scene were able to contain the fire, which quickly spread around all floors, it is unclear whether there have been an injuries, or deaths. However, the spokesperson for the capital’s fire service, Gabriel Plus, told reporters that “a number of people had evacuated before our arrival.”
