"We will respect the vote, the result, what the people think and decide,” said president-elect Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (AMLO) during a televised speech, calling the vote a democratic exercise and encouraging his countrymen to participate.

“We are doing very well, many citizens who are participating are helping me so that the decision does not depend on one man, important as it is, that depends on all citizens, that is the democracy, power comes from the people, and is instituted for their benefit. Power only makes sense and becomes a virtue when it is put at the service of others,” said AMLO.
