Warsaw condemns, as the European Union adverts to take legal "disciplinary" actions, Germany is trying to turn the EU into the 4th Reich.

Jaroslaw Kaczynski, Deputy Prime Minister and head of the Poland's ruling party declared on Friday that, Germany as the Europe's most powerful nation today, is trying to turn the European Union into a "German Fourth Reich."

Poland: EU To Take Legal Actions for Ignoring the Bloc’s Law

The head of the Law and Justice party (PiS) stated that some countries "are not enthusiastic at the prospect of a German Fourth Reich being built on the basis of the EU."

"If we Poles agreed with this kind of modern-day submission, we would be degraded in different ways," said the Prime Minister. Adding that the Court of Justice of the EU was being used as an "instrument" for federalist ideas.

Since 2015, Poland has been involved in a long stand-off with the European Union, in particular over the judicial reforms that PiS has been pushing. In the meantime, this week, the EU announced that it is starting to take legal action against Poland for "ignoring EU law and undermining judicial independence."

The European Union announced on Wednesday that it would start to take legal actions against Poland for violating EU law and injuring the judicial independence. Polish Premier, Mateusz Morawiecki, described this action in Brussels as a tendency to "bureaucratic centralism that has to be stopped."

Paolo Gentiloni, EU Commissioner of Economy, declared that the violation was pointed out to Poland for infringing into the primacy of EU law, adding that some articles of EU treaties were unsuitable with Polish laws.
