Real Madrid Captain Sergio Ramos scored at the death to draw 1-1 with fierce Spanish rivals Barcelona in Saturday’s “El Clásico.”
After a goalless first half the, Uruguayan Luis Suarez scored with his head in the 53rd minute of the match, held at Barcelona’s home stadium, Camp Nou.
Barcelona enjoyed the majority of possession throughout the encounter, but Real managed more shots on goal. Both sides had penalty calls turned down by the referee and created a number of promising chances.
Argentine superstar Lionel Messi then missed a chance to extend the lead and Brazilian hero Neymar missed an opportunity to all but seal a 2-0 win for the home team with 20 minutes left to play.
Captain Sergio Ramos was able to thunder home the equalizer in the 90th-minute from a corner kick and secure a point for Real Madrid in La Liga. Ramos, known to be an aerial danger, took advantage of poor marking by the Barcelona defense to powerfully head past German goalkeeper Marc-André Ter Stegen to silence the Barcelona crowd.
El Clásico is Spain's biggest derby and is watched with keen interest around the world. Overall, however, the game failed to live up to its traditional hype.

Messi looked anguished following the loss as he left the ground and Barcelona’s midfield seemed to struggle without Spanish veteran Andrés Iniesta who only came on the field in the second half. Real was without Welsh forward Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo was not at his usual best.
The vital point allows first placed Real to maintain its distance in the league from Barcelona who is sitting second, trailing by six points.
While Barcelona still has a chance of winning the league, Real has continues their unbeaten run to 33 games in all competitions.
