Nasralla Ignores TSE Pronouncement and Insists on Vote Counting

The presidential candidate of Honduras for the Alliance of Opposition against the Dictatorship, Salvador Nasralla, reiterated on Monday he will ignore the designation of Juan Orlando Hernandez as the winner of the general elections on November 26 and said "this is no longer a legitimate regime "

"80 percent of the population accepts the victory of the Alliance (...) The Liberal Party and the good people of the National Party have already joined our demonstrations, we will continue to the end," he said during a speech at a Press conference.

In addition, he requested that the Organization of American States (OAS) convene its Permanent Council to take the poll certificates that demonstrate the alleged fraud committed by the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE).

"Officially, I ask the OAS to convene its Permanent Council so that I can take the physical poll certificates that confirm the triumph of the Alliance of Opposition against the Dictatorship." Today I am making the request to meet and to be received me as the president elected according to the popular will, "he said.

Nasralla urged the Armed Forces to "assume the role that our Constitution dictates (...) it is up to those military and police bases to take control of what Honduras should be so that the will of the majority of the people is respected."

The opposition leader denounced that "in Honduras ethics and morals do not govern, we do not have institutions, our only force is the people who claim the streets."

He also indicated that they have spoken with representatives of the OAS, the European Union and the US Embassy, who "coincide with our approach, we want transparency".

"There is fraud underway and we have to fight until we beat it"

The coordinator of the Alliance of Opposition and former president of Honduras, Manuel Zelaya, presented on Monday graphics of the alleged fraud made by the TSE to subtract votes from Nasralla during election day of November 26.

"This is an insult to the intelligence, there is a mounted fraud and we have to fight until we beat it, whatever the cost, we are not going to let the elections be stolen (...) We do not accept this data from the TSE, we won the elections ", denounced the leader.

Zelaya said there were several interruptions in the system during the process of transmission of poll data until the difference between the two candidates was reduced after the 5 percent announced in the first TSE bulletin.
