In the case of the subway attack that took place in Brooklyn on Tuesday, the New York City Police Department (NYPD) is looking for Frank James as a "person of interest", although it has not yet been established whether this 62-year-old man is the perpetrator.
James Essig, the head of the NYPD detective unit, explained that authorities found a key to a van rented by James at the crime scene. "The two crime scenes, the subway and the van, are still very active and are still being processed," Essig said.
He detective confirmed that the perpetrator of the attack threw two smoke bombs in the second car of the N line train when it was between the stops of 59th and 33rd streets, after which he made at least 33 shot with a Glock 9mm gun.

Images distributed on social networks showed several people injured and covered in blood being treated on a platform at the 36th Street station in Brooklyn, in Sunset Park, a neighborhood with a large Mexican population.
Some photographs were also published of a subway car filled with smoke. On Tuesday,authorities asked citizens to avoid the area, where numerous ambulances and police units were deployed, as confirmed by State Governor Kathy Hochul.
The municipal authorities are trying to gather information about the incident, for which the reasons are unknown for now.
