A passion for soccer proved deadly as a Nigerian man killed his friend in India on Sunday over an argument of who is the world's greatest soccer player: Argentine superstar Lionel Messi or Portuguese sensation Cristiano Ronaldo.
According to reports, a group of friends gathered at a house to celebrate Obinna Michael Durumchukwu's 34th birthday Saturday night. On Sunday morning, three people were left at the house: Michael, who was killed, his friend Chukwuma Nwabu, and the unnamed owner of the house.

While the owner of the house was sleeping, the other two were watching a soccer game at around 10 a.m. local time when the argument broke out between them over Messi and Ronaldo.
According to local police chief Kiran Kabadi, following a heated verbal argument, Michael threw a glass at Ronaldo fan Nwabu but missed. The infuriated Ronaldo fan then picked up a piece of the broken glass and stabbed Michael in the neck.
The owner then woke up and found Michael in a pool of blood and called the police who later came and arrested the suspect.
