The Islamic Consultative Assembly has established a committee to investigate foreign interference in the string of protests, which recently occurred in that country, and to strategize ways of preventing future interventions according to members of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission.
The Deputy Head of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, Husein Naqvi Huseini, said that there is ample reliable documentation to prove foreign influences appearing in the nation’s protests causing what would have been peaceful demonstrations to turn violent.
The official said the information supported these claims with participation being seen from countries such as the United States, Israel and their allies. He went on to give examples of the violent outbreaks, particularly in the media, in large mobilization and sabotaged demonstrations which all contributed to an overall incitement of conspiracy and large uprisings.
The committee will analyze the interference and work to “meet the needs of the people, put an end to the possible factors of discontent and avoid provocations” and thereby prevent further international infiltration.
“Regarding the recent events, there have been various analyses. There is a correct point commonly made: that is separating people's honest and rightful demands from the violent and vandalizing moves by a certain group; these two must be separated," agreed the leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
Earlier that day, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani reiterated the nation's continued success in countering its enemies attempt to overthrow Iran's political system.
During a conference in Qom, Ali Khamenei denounced the foreign interference, telling the crowd of listeners that despite their attempts, the U.S. and the ULL will never succeed.
“All moves against us, by the enemy, over the past 40 years have been attacks on the Islamic Revolution. The Revolution politically eradicated the enemy from Iran. Once again, the nation tells the U.S., Britain, and those who seek to overthrow the IRI from abroad that 'you've failed, and you will fail in the future, too,” leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, Seyyed Ali Khamenei said during a conference in Qom, Tuesday.
Since Dec. 28, riots, opposition movements and pro-government protests have filled the streets and resulting in at least 20 deaths and over 1,000 arrests. The government has clearly outlined its support for peaceful demonstrations but reiterated it would take appropriate action to control aggression.
The Iranian state news agency reported the release of 70 detainee protesters who were considered to be the ringleaders of riots in recent demonstrations.
The U.S. has declared its support for opposition forces on numerous occasions, one of the most recent being during an emergency session with the United Nations Security Council last week.
