Newly elected Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn speaks with teleSUR exclusively in a wide-ranging interview.

Jeremy Corbyn, whose election as leader of the U.K. Labour Party has shaken the British political establishment, spoke to teleSUR in an exclusive interview where the leftist leader shared his vision for “a different way of doing politics.”

In a wide-ranging interview Corbyn shares his thoughts on his mandate as leader of the opposition, his plans to tackle the Conservative government's legislation, Europe's refugee crisis, and lessons he has learned from his travels throughout Latin America.

Corbyn even reveals that his favorite book is “The Open Veins of Latin America” by the late Eduardo Galeano, which details the centuries of pillage and the effects of imperialism on Latin America. He argues that the U.K has “a lot to learn” from Latin America.

Earlier this month, political outsider Jeremy Corbyn won the post with 59.5 percent of the votes, besting his rival by 40 percent. Corbyn argues that as a result of his overwhelming victory that he has a strong mandate to shift Labour's policies to the left.

“The Labor party has become a home to a much more radical tradition... I'm excited about the possibilities of real change,” said Corbyn.
