Japanese scientists recently predicted a major earthquake would hit the country.

An earthquake, 6.9 magnitude, stroke Japan on Tuesday, hitting off the main Japanese island of Honshu, according to the United States Geological Survey.

The earthquake was centered 125 kilometers southeast of Morioka, Japan.

Scientist had predicted earlier in April a big earthquake, after over 100 whales appeared stranded on the Japanese coasts.
