Israeli forces have arrested 16 citizens from West Bank governorates, according to Non-Governmental Organization Palestinian Prisoners Club.
The citizens were rounded up between Saturday night and Sunday morning. This number of Palestinians detained for protesting U.S. President Donald Trump's decision to name Jerusalem as Israel's capital has now risen to 430.
Among the detainees, the Palestinian Prisoners Club published, were 131 children and 9 women.
There are reported three individuals who were taken to hospital for medical treatment. The conditions of the injured remain unknown.
Approximately 130 citizens, the majority, were arrested in Jerusalem, followed by 100 in Hebron. The detainees were exposed to various forms of abuse, the Palestinian Prisoners Club reported.
Trump, on Dec. 6, declared Jerusalem the capital of Israel during a press conference. The U.S. leader also stated that the American embassy located in Tel Aviv will eventually be relocated to Jerusalem.
