Pipelines linking the gas network from Mahsharhr city to Ahvaz exploded, according to the director general of the province's Crisis Management Directorate, Kiomars Hajizadeh.
A gas pipeline blast in southwestern Iran has killed at least four people and injured about six others, according to an official report. Among the victims, are one woman and a child.

The pipelines linking the gas network from Mahsharhr city to Ahvaz exploded, according to the director general of the province's Crisis Management Directorate, Kiomars Hajizadeh.
Along with the pipeline, multiple cars, a bus and a water tanker caught fire due to the blast. While the bus was empty of passengers, the driver was injured and taken to receive medical care at a medical facility, along with others. Passengers in one of the vehicles and the sole truck passenger did not survive the blast.

The site of the explosion has been located, and the fire has been extinguished, a spokesperson of the Emergency Organization of Iran, Mojtaba Khaledi, told reporters.
Authorities have previously blamed similar incidents on Iran's crumbling infrastructure and inadequate safety regulations.
