The resistance group noted that the attack on Syria comes as a service to Israeli ambitions in the region.

Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah issued a sharp warning to Washington Friday, lambasting Thursday night's unprovoked attack on a Syrian military base as a “stupid move carried out by Trump’s administration (that) would usher a major and serious tension in the region and complicate the situation in the whole world.”

The Shia Islamist group added that the U.S. military move comes in furtherance of “its continuous aggressive path” against Muslims worldwide and as a “service” to the Israeli government and its “Zionist ambitions in the region.”

Hezbollah Leader: Arab States Give More Support to Syria Militants Than Palestinians

The U.S. launched dozens of tomahawk cruise missiles at the Shayrat air base in Homs Thursday night. The Russian Defense Ministry claims that only 23 of 59 missiles reached the intended target, with the remainder landing in nearby villages. Syrian media sources are reporting that nine civilians died in the attack, including four children.

Hezbollah has been embroiled in the Syrian civil war since 2013, according to official statements, where the political party's milita has been fighting alongside the Syrian Army and allied groups to support the embattled government of President Bashar al-Assad.

“Moreover, such aggressions can never have any negative effect on the axis of resistance which supports the state in Syria in its war against the terrorist groups,” the statement continued.

The group also noted that such “sinful aggression” wouldn't harm the morale of the Syrian Army, “which has been achieving successive victories against the terrorists who are supported by the U.S. administration and its agents in the various Syrian cities.”

The group has been credited with bringing the Israeli invasion of Lebanon to its knees in 2006 in a blistering 33-day war that resulted in a humiliating retreat by Israeli military forces. The Israelis regularly attack alleged Hezbollah targets in Syria while threatening to commit crimes against humanity in any future war against the Lebanese group, including targeting civilian infrastructure.

Lebanon's Hezbollah Leader Says Not Afraid of 'Idiot' Trump

According to reports, officials from the movement and senior Russian officers met in November in the then-besieged city of Aleppo to coordinate military maneuvers.

In February, Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah lambasted U.S. President Donald Trump, saying that “he revealed once again the true face of the U.S. administration which is racist, ugly, criminal, murderous, which spills blood, confiscates freedom, steals the wealth of other nations, and plots against the oppressed nations (of the world).”

“We are not worried, rather, we are very optimistic that when an idiot settles in the White House and boasts about his idiocy, this is the beginning of relief for the oppressed around the world."
