Before his trip to Rome, Morales said it is always good to hear the reflections of the highest representative of the Catholic Church.
"I have an invitation from the Pope to talk about important issues, not only about Bolivia, but other always present conflicts in the world," said the Bolivian president.
According to the official agenda, Morales will be received by Pope Francis on Friday. On Saturday he will join Ecuadorean President Rafael Correa at a meeting convened by the pope that will focus on social justice.
The trip comes amid a controversy as leaders of the Catholic Church in Bolivia made accusations that State authorities are linked to drug trafficking.
The head of state asked that the Catholic hierarchy reveal names of state authorities allegedly linked to drug trafficking in order to be "responsible" with their allegations.
