#BlackLivesMatter activists took their message of racial justice to Chicago train passengers by taking over train wagons and highlighting the reality of racial injustice and police brutality in the country .
"Our goal is to start a dialogue with those who are so often easily able to ignore us and our voices,” Friday’s event’s Facebook page stated. “We gather to encourage Chicagoans to confront the realities of police violence against black and brown people.”
Organizers brought signs and cards with facts and statistics to inform passengers about the reality of racial inequalities in the country.
Activists also peformed music and sang in their call for racial justice
Activists were prepared for police repression and adviced participants on how to avoid police measures to arrest or disperse them.
