Holland's Prime Minister Mark Rutte exposed that the government has made some mistakes current to the strategy to strike COVID-19, noting as well that the booster vaccination campaign should have started earlier.

Rutted recognized that the first measures taken against COVID-19 in November were not rigorous enough, and the late starting of the booster vaccination campaign.
"I made mistakes, in communication. In the beginning, I placed too much emphasis on people’s own responsibility and too little on the mandatory measures," Rutte asserted.
The Prime Minister admitted that people don't seem too convinced about following the measure ruled by the government for preventing the continued spreading of the pandemic.
Now that the Omikron variant is advancing in our countries, it is even more important to limit our contacts, also across the border. That is why I, together with my colleague Hendrik Wuest from North Rhine-Westphalia, call on you to stay at home as much as possible and to avoid crowds.
Among the European countries, the Netherlands is one of the last in starting to apply booster vaccines jabs, having 2 million over 17 million vaccinated already with the third dose in the region so far.
Amsterdam declared on Sunday a lockdown over the Omicron strain situation, closing bars, restaurants, cafes, cinemas, museums, theaters, gyms, and shops selling not-essential goods.
