The fighter plane fell in the Güira de Melena municipality, only 20 kilometers from the city of Havana

A Cuban military plane crashes in Guira de Melena without leaving victims, according to a local newspaper.

Neighbors of the municipality of Güira de Melena, in the province of Artemisa, witnessed "an explosion in the air". Presumably, a MiG-23 that participated in military exercises and that took off from the Air Base of San Antonio de los Baños.

The fighter plane fell in the Güira de Melena municipality, only 20 kilometers from the city of Havana.

According to preliminary reports, the crew members were able to catapult themselves in time and there are no known fatalities.

In April of 2017, in that same province, an An-26 aircraft of the Revolutionary Armed Forces crashed into the Loma de la Pimienta, in the municipality of Candelaria, leaving a balance of 8 soldiers killed.
