The ceremony is taking place one day before President Donald Trump’s election at Washington, DC.

In light of President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration, hip-hop star Common has agreed to perform at a charity show meant to provide funding for Planned Parenthood, which has been under fire by anti-choice forces since mid-2015.

Indie rock band The Nationals will also form part of the line-up while other artists are expected to be announced soon, according to Okay Player.

Last week, U.S. Speaker of the House Paul Ryan threatened to pass a bill that, if passed, would see President Barack Obama's 2010 healthcare law repealed. As a result, federal funding for the pro-choice Planned Parenthood group would be cut off.

The decision came two days after a Republican legislative commission issued a report recommending cutting funds to the organization, the country's largest reproductive health services provider.

In mid-December, the Obama administration issued a final ruling designed to block states from withholding federal money for Planned Parenthood and other family planning clinics.

But many expect the ruling to be overturned in 2017 as President-elect Donald Trump has pledged to defund Planned Parenthood while at least 14 states have tried to pass legislation or taken administrative action to prevent Planned Parenthood from receiving Title X funding, which plays a crucial role in ensuring access to family planning services.
