The Ombudsman's Office warned that, as a result of the confrontation between local gangs, restrictions have arisen for the population in the region.

It also referred to strengthening their position in the area, adding that they show a certain degree of territorial control through the imposition of rules of conduct.

The proximity to Medellín positions the department of Antioquia as a strategic zone for illegal businesses, said the Ombudsman's Office.
