Noting that China continues to be an appealing target for foreign investment, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said Friday that China's health policy places people's health and lives at its core.

In this regard, he said that this policy was adapted to the evolution of the epidemiological situation, adding that it is a manifestation of the Communist Party's determination to serve the people.

According to the spokesperson, the reliability of the Chinese market is seen in the growing foreign trade and foreign direct investment achieved since the beginning of this year, notably by South Korea, Germany and the United States.

The U.S. ambassador called measures such as the two-month closure of Shanghai counterproductive, claiming that trade was affected, businessmen's were driven to flee, hurting businessmen's feelings and hampering exchanges.

In response to these allegations, Wenbin said China has the capability to keep the pandemic at bay, stabilize the economy, achieve steady economic development and maintain its health policy, according to which living with the disease is not under consideration, the Chinese spokesman said.
