A 'Fantastic Woman' (Spanish: Una Mujer Fantástica) wins best foreign language film at Oscars 2018.

The Chilean film 'A Fantastic Woman' ( Spanish: Una Mujer Fantástica), directed by Sebastián Lelio and starring Daniela Vega, won best foreign language film at Oscars 2018 on Sunday.

"This is an incredible gift," Lelio said before thanking the producers of the film, Juan de Dios Larraín and Pablo Larraín.

He also thanked Daniela Vega for being "the inspiration for this movie".

Last February, the film had also won the prize for the best Ibero-American film during the Goya Awards Gala in Spain.

The winning film tells the story of Marina, a transsexual, who suffers constant attacks and discrimination from society, especially by the relatives of her old and deceased romantic partner.
