CARICOM Heads of Government Summit

Several significant issues related to the Caribbean region are expected to be addressed during the 39th Regular Meeting of the Caribbean Community (Caricom) Heads of Government Meeting in St. James, Jamaica in the coming days.

The meeting started on July 4th, the day citizens of the Caribbean celebrate #CARICOMDay, which marks the anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Chaguaramas. The Treaty established the 15-member regional bloc, which helped to govern the newly independent Caribbean islands, after the fall of British colonial rule and the West Indian Federation.
