At least 13 people have been killed and many others were injured Tuesday following a suicide attack at a military checkpoint in the eastern Afghanistan city of Jalalabad, Tolo has reported.

Among those killed were members of the National Security Direction (NDS), while several others were wounded in the explosion, which occurred in the Middle Eastern country, according to the spokesman for the provincial governor, Attaulá Joghyani.
According to Tolo News network, the remaining casualties of the attack are civilians. A suicide bomber reportedly detonated explosives from a vest, around 10:00 a.m. Afghan time.
The capital of Nangarhar province, in Jalalabad, has been a hotbed for several attacks recently.
So far, no group has claimed responsibility for this latest attack.
