70 Firefighters Tackle Blaze at London's Famed Camden Market

The first three floors, as well as the roof of the popular tourist attraction, were engulfed in flames, according to the London Fire Brigade.

According to the London Fire Brigade, on Monday, it took over 70 firefighters to contain a blaze at London's famed Camden market as the first three floors, as well as the roof of the popular tourist attraction, was engulfed in flames.

"Crews worked hard to get the fire under control and to stop it from spreading to neighboring buildings," said Station Manager David Reid.

Firefighters say the origins of the fire remain unknown and there were no immediate reports of any injuries or casualties. 

The brigade reported that 10 fire engines were sent to tackle the Camden fire.

The incident comes a month a blaze in the 24-story Grenfell Tower apartment block killed at least 80 people.

Camden Market previously suffered a fire in 2008. At the time, a  major part of the market had to close for several months. Camden Market is home to more than 1,000 shops, stalls, bars, and cafes.
