An earthquake measuring 6.3 hit northern Chile near the Peruvian border, late Saturday.
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) reported that tremor struck along the dreaded Ring of Fire after 10:00 p.m. at a depth of 110 kilometers.
The epicenter of the quake was 76 kilometers east of the city of Putre, Chile and 118 kilometers southeast of Tacna, Peru. Two people died and many others injured in the recent Jan. 14-quake in Peru.
So far, there are no reports of injuries or damages to structures. No tsunami warnings have been issued.
