The organization founded by Julian Assange began releasing documents from Brennan's personal email accounts on Wednesday. One email argued that the U.S. intelligence community “must never be subject to political manipulation and interference.”
The first set of documents also contains reports on Afghanistan and torture, as well as ideas for U.S. policy toward Iran.
The FBI and U.S. Secret Service have opened criminal inquiries into the hacking of Brennan's and his family private email accounts, the FBI said on Thursday.
