A Palestinian opened fire Thursday at a group of Israeli soldiers who were setting up a floating checkpoint at the entrance of the illegal settlement of Ofra. The firing killed two soldiers, and severely injured another.

Violence escalated after the shooting when, after imposing a siege, Israeli army units raided several neighborhoods in Ramallah. The Israeli settlers also attacked Palestinians in the Occupied West Bank and at the northern entrance to Ramallah.

Palestinians clashed with Israeli occupying forces when they protested against the raiding of Ramallah and the settler violence against them.
