Junk APEC! Activists Protest APEC Summit in Manila, Philippines

Ahead the kickoff this week of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit in Manila, Philippines, social movements, labor unions, Indigenous groups, farmer organizations, and international activists have been protesting APEC 2015 for promoting an economic development model that has worsened poverty and inequality in the Philippines and beyond.

U.S. President Barack Obama arrived in Manila on Tuesday morning for the two-day summit scheduled to take place on Nov.18-19 but protesters criticizing U.S. policies condemned his visit.
