Iraq: Yazidi Women Honor Women Killed by Islamic State Group

During International Women Day, Yazidi women came together to honor the women killed by the Islamic State group at a ceremony at the Lilash Temple in Shikhan, Iraq.

The temple is considered a holy site for the minority religious and ethnic group, who has suffered attempted genocide by the extremist fighters.

One woman who was recently liberated by the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces set fire to the veil of a niqab she was forced to wear, saying she felt she was reborn.
