Grief, Rage Flood US Streets as Murders by Cops Spark Protests

IN PICTURES: Protests have broken out after two brutal police killings of Black men in what may signal a new phase in anti-police brutality organizing

Black Lives Matter and anti-brutality mobilizations have broken out anew across cities in the United States both large and small in response to the brutal killings of Alton Sterling, 37, and Philando Castile, 32, both of whom were shot by police within 48 hours of each other. The shootings, which were captured on video and went viral across social media, triggered outrage and revulsion towards the racist violence perpetrated by police across the country that has already claimed the lives of 136 Black people in 2016 alone, according to the Guardian.

teleSUR takes a look at the latest protests across the United States, which may signal the beginning of a new stage for social movements focusing on the defense of Black communities and an end to "stolen lives" claimed by police violence and impunity.
