Thousands of people marched in cities across Brazil Friday and Saturday in support of Brazil's most popular politician and leftist former President Luiz Inacio 'Lula' da Silva as he decided to defy an arrest warrant to serve his 12-year sentence over corruption.
Lula holed up Friday at a steelworkers union headquarters in Sao Paulo, the same union where he started his career as a labor leader, as thousands surrounded the building to show their support for him and protect him from any attempt by police to arrest him against his well.
