The Israeli military launched a violent assault on Jenin and its refugee camp, leaving six Palestinians dead and 35 injured, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

Among the injured, 33 civilians were transported to Ibn Sina, Al-Amal, and Al-Shifa hospitals. The death toll is expected to rise as the military deepens its incursion into the area.

Wissam Bakr, director of the Governmental Hospital of Jenin, confirmed that one of the injured was a doctor from Al-Amal Hospital, who sustained a minor injury.

The assault combined airstrikes and ground operations, with Israeli forces attacking from the al-Jalameh military checkpoint. Troops were also reported in the al-Jabarat neighborhood. A separate drone strike targeted a vehicle near Al-Zahraa School, but the car was empty, avoiding additional casualties. Apache helicopters fired into the skies over the camp, adding to the chaos.

Israeli troops have surrounded several homes in the refugee camp, using snipers to fire on residents in the al-Hadaf neighborhood. Elsewhere, doors of iron were installed at the entrances of neighborhoods and villages in the West Bank to restrict local movement and punish the population.

The operation, called “Iron Wall,” was authorized by the Israeli cabinet to bolster settler expansion and support illegal colonization efforts in Palestinian territories. According to Anwar Rajab, a brigadier general in the Palestinian security forces, the attack targeted civilians and security personnel indiscriminately.

Despite the recently brokered ceasefire in Gaza, Israeli forces continue widespread raids and arrests across the occupied West Bank, often with no prior warning.

These actions exacerbate the already dire conditions for Palestinians under occupation, as the international community watches with growing concern over Israel’s persistent violations of human rights.
