Israeli Forces Escalate Military Operations in Occupied West Bank

Israeli forces have intensified military operations across several parts of the occupied West Bank, particularly in Jenin, where reports of severe human rights violations have emerged.

Military vehicles surrounded the Jenin State Hospital, restricting civilian access and obstructing essential medical services. Reports indicate that patients and medical staff were searched as part of the operation.
The Israeli military operation, codenamed “Iron Wall”, commenced after the ceasefire in Gaza and has significantly impacted Palestinians in the West Bank.
Local media reported the demolition of over 20 homes in the Jenin refugee camp, destroyed using explosives. The situation remains dire, with bodies trapped under rubble and ambulances unable to provide aid due to military blockades and damaged infrastructure.
In Ramallah, Israeli forces conducted raids in multiple villages, detaining several civilians. A teenager was killed during clashes in one of the raids. Other areas, including Bethlehem, Nablus, and Al-Quds (Jerusalem), were also targeted, with tear gas and stun grenades deployed against residents.
Incursions were reported in the villages of al-Mughayyir, Ein Siniya, Jifna, and the northern town of Birzeit, where homes were raided, and individuals were detained.
The governor of Jenin, Kamal Abu al-Rub, expressed deep concern over the deteriorating humanitarian situation, highlighting the victims trapped under rubble and the lack of access to essential services.
The military actions in the West Bank include:
- Indiscriminate attacks on civilians
- Demolition of homes
- Blockades restricting access to medical services
- Severe restrictions on freedom of movement
These actions are viewed as part of a broader strategy to consolidate Israeli control over the territory, expand illegal settlements, and suppress the Palestinian population under a system of occupation and systemic repression.
The escalating violence and continued human rights abuses underscore the urgent need for international intervention to protect Palestinian civilians and address the ongoing violations in the occupied territories.
