Pezeshkian said that in the past year, the world has witnessed the true nature of the Israeli regime.

In this regard, the Iranian head of state stressed that “it is necessary for the international community to immediately stop the violence, achieve a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and put an end to the desperate barbarity of Israel in Lebanon, before it engulfs the entire region and the world”.
Israel has been defeated in Gaza, Pezeshkian stressed, arguing that no matter how much violence there is, the myth of invincibility can be destroyed.
“The only way to end this 70-year-old nightmare is for the Palestinians to regain their right to self-determination,” said the Iranian politician, who further proposed that all the Palestinian people should: Both those living in their homeland and those who have been forced into the diaspora determine their future in a referendum.
Likewise, the Iranian leader said he was confident that through this mechanism a lasting peace could be achieved, where Muslims, Christians and Jews live together in a peaceful land without racism or apartheid.
In the past year, the world has witnessed the true nature of the Israeli regime and seen how it is carrying out atrocities in Gaza; in 11 months, it has killed over 41,000 innocent people in cold blood, most of them women and children. Its leaders describe this genocide as state terrorism, the murder of children, war crimes as legitimate self-defence
He pointed out that they consider kindergartens, schools and hospitals as legitimate military targets, while they consider the brave people of freedom all around the world who protest against this anti-Semitic genocide.
He also stressed that they classify an oppressed people who have been resisting occupation and humiliation for seven decades as terrorists.
He further denounced that Israel has murdered “our scientists, diplomats, even guests in our own country and has covertly supported and uncovered terrorist groups”.
We have supported the peoples of the world who have flooded the streets with their indignation.
Israeli violence in Lebanon
Faced with the violence unleashed by Israel against Lebanon, the Iranian head of state indicated that he cannot go unpunished. “The responsibility for all these consequences will rest with those Governments which have contained all global efforts to end this horrendous catastrophe”.
Emphasizing that Iran has never started a war, but has heroically defended itself against external aggression by making its aggressors regret their actions, the president said that the Persian nation did not want to take the territory of any country, nor has it taken over the natural resources of other nations.
We have stressed the need for peace, unity and stability in the region as well as its strength based on several principles: we must recognize that we are first and foremost neighbours and “through this bond we will always be together”.
The presence of foreign powers in our region is temporary, and it produces instability. Our development and progress are interrelated, he said, and further argued that «leaving our security in the hands of powers from outside the region will not benefit us».
“The new world order must be inclusive,” he stressed, while insisting that it should benefit everyone. An order that does not safeguard all interests should not be maintained.
Is it not the root of wars in today’s world that aggressors have violated the rights of nations, fostered discrimination and inequality, kept certain groups weak and underdeveloped; and have not respected the rights of people?» , Masoud Pezeshkian reflected.
As long as injustice, greed, oppression and poverty persist in any region, violence and conflict will continue. Unless we face these disorders, we cannot rescue our children’s future from darkness and destruction.
The head of state also pointed out some of the challenges in the region: war, sectarian traditions, extremism, drug trafficking, water scarcity, refugee crises, environmental degradation, foreign interventions.
«We can collectively tackle these common challenges», he insisted.
The President said he was confident that peace and sustainable development will light a bright path for future generations.
Iran: «Facing the obstacles of the contemporary world»
Pezeshkian said it is the first time he has addressed the Assembly as president of the Islamic Republic of Iran. After narrating the creation of the world from the Muslim religion, the president said that peace will not take place in the world unless nations can defend themselves fairly.
«I began my election campaign with a message to reform and empathy constructive collaboration with the world, economic development, while insisting that it plans to develop a solid foundation for the start of a new era of my country», he said.
“My aim is to tackle the obstacles of the contemporary world while structuring external relations. Neighbouring and sister countries must not squander their resources in the arms race,’ he said.
He also warned that the world powers have sometimes supported each other. We have learned that we can only rely on our own people. Iran wants to safeguard its security and not create insecurity for other countries», he warned».
