1. Deadly Attacks Across Gaza
In the early hours of Saturday, July 5, 2025, at least 19 Gaza civilian casualties were reported following a new wave of Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip. According to medical sources and eyewitness accounts, the attacks targeted residential areas and displacement camps despite repeated calls for a ceasefire from the international community.
The violence continues to escalate in one of the most densely populated regions in the world, where civilians are increasingly trapped between conflict and survival.

Atrocities in Khan Younis and Refugee Camps
Among the most severe incidents occurred in eastern Khan Younis, where Israeli forces struck tents housing displaced civilians, killing seven and injuring over a dozen. Local witnesses described the attack as yet another massacre in the region.
In central Gaza City, an airstrike on a school-turned-shelter killed at least five people and injured several others. Meanwhile, artillery fire hit the eastern part of the city, claiming one life. In Al-Bureij refugee camp, Israeli drones launched attacks that killed two individuals and left others wounded.
Another airstrike in the Al-Maghazi refugee camp resulted in two more civilian deaths, with victims being rushed to Al-Aqsa Hospital for emergency care.

3. Humanitarian Aid Turns Into a Death Trap
The humanitarian situation has dramatically worsened, particularly after reports surfaced of Israeli artillery targeting Palestinians waiting for food aid. Hospital sources confirmed that at least four people were killed and several injured in an attack on a crowd awaiting assistance in central Gaza.
According to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), approximately 70 Palestinians have died while seeking humanitarian aid in the last 24 hours alone.
UNRWA has also reported that 85% of Gaza’s territory is now classified as militarized zones by Israel, forcing over 714,000 people to flee their homes since the ceasefire collapsed in March 2025. The agency urgently called for an end to the blockade and an independent investigation into these deadly attacks.

4. Conflict Toll and Starvation as a Weapon of War
Since the start of the Israeli military offensive on October 7, 2023, more than 57,000 Palestinians have been killed, and over 135,000 injured, mostly women and children — according to Gaza’s Health Ministry and verified UN data.
Thousands remain missing under the rubble, while hundreds of thousands have been forced to abandon their homes. Famine has spread across the enclave, resulting in numerous civilian deaths, including dozens of children.
International human rights organizations and UNRWA have labeled the situation in Gaza as catastrophic, accusing Israel of using starvation as a weapon of war and turning humanitarian aid distribution into a “death trap” for civilians.

5. International Response and Call for Ceasefir
The international community, led by the United Nations and supported by a wide coalition of humanitarian organizations and non-governmental agencies, has significantly intensified its calls for an immediate cessation of hostilities in Gaza. Global leaders, rights groups, and aid organizations have issued urgent appeals demanding not only a lasting ceasefire but also unimpeded access for humanitarian convoys to reach the millions of Palestinians facing starvation, disease, and displacement.
Statements from UN officials have underscored the catastrophic scale of civilian suffering, with repeated warnings that Gaza is on the brink of total systemic collapse. The UN Security Council has held emergency sessions, while the International Court of Justice and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights have called for investigations into potential violations of international law.
Despite these diplomatic efforts and widespread condemnation from civil society, Israeli military operations and the ongoing blockade show no sign of easing. As a result, the humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip continues to deepen, with civilians bearing the brunt of a conflict they cannot escape.
