Nicaragua and Iceland signed two agreements of cooperation focused on mutual investment in geothermal projects. The agreements came during a meeting between president Daniel Ortega, members of the government, and a delegation to Nicaragua from the European country on Friday.
These agreements have contributed to a series of actions and decisions that will be realized very soon, highlighted Ortega after signing the accords. He also stressed that the presence of authorities and Icelanders businessmen in Nicaragua will facilitate the strengthening of relations between the two nations.
Ortega also highlighted that the development achieved by Iceland in the use of alternative energies and noted the significant potential that Nicaragua has in this area.
The projects anticipated through this mutual agreement include: the establishment of a geothermal park as well as other initiatives for the use of these resources.
