The Israeli military carried out airstrikes on Hamas targets in northern Gaza Saturday as an alleged response to a rocket fired earlier on the day by the group.

This information was confirmed by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). The regime added that the attacks were “in response to a rocket fired” from Gaza, and consisted in the bombing of “two underground targets part of a subterranean structure.”
The rocket, which was allegedly fired from Palestine earlier Saturday, impacted the compound of the Regional Council of Sdot Negev (in the occupied Palestinian territory), without causing any victims, according to the regime’s communique.
The last few days few days were violent for Palestinians due to repression by Israeli forces against the Great March of Return. At least one person was killed and another 25 injured Friday.
The Great March of Return has been held every Friday since Mar. 30, 2018, by Palestinians who demand their right to return to their territory and an end to the Israeli occupation.
Since the beginning of the protests, more than 200 Palestinians have been killed and more than 22,000 have been wounded due to aggression led by Israeli state agents.
