The incident occurred as members of the political group assembled at Shahwani Stadium to honor the founder of the organization, Sardar Ataullah Mengal, on the anniversary of his passing.
This far, police investigations indicate that the explosive device detonated in a parking area just as attendees were beginning to leave, suggesting that the attack was intended to disrupt a gathering aimed at drawing attention to communities historically marginalized within Pakistani society. Government official Hamza Shafaat reported that, in addition to the deceased, more than thirty people were injured as a result of the attack.
This was not the only violent act recorded in the region this week. On Tuesday, in another part of Balochistan, five individuals died near the border with Iran under circumstances still under investigation. So far, no organization has claimed responsibility for the attacks.
Meanwhile, the population was also shaken by the deaths of six soldiers on the same Tuesday, when insurgents attacked the headquarters of the Federal Police in the Bannu district, located in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Throughout 2025, over 430 people have lost their lives in violent incidents involving militias that maintain active confrontations against the state.
