The National Assembly (AN), in a regular session, urged the government of the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, to evaluate the rupture of relations with the Kingdom of Spain, following the decision of the Congress of Deputies of that country, September 11, to ask the president of his government not to recognize the re-election of the Venezuelan head of state.
In this regard, the president of the parliament, Jorge Rodríguez, urged the national executive to evaluate at a peremptory time the rupture of diplomatic and commercial relations, as well as reciprocal action by the crude and interventionist proposal adopted in the Congress of Deputies of the Kingdom of Spain against Venezuelan institutionalism.
“More than 200 years ago we stopped being slaves of the Spanish empire, we go straight ahead in defense of our independence, sovereignty and our right to be free. Venezuela is respected, we do not mess with anyone and we demand respect, if they do not respect, to read what happened in 2019”, he added.
In this regard, the member of the Foreign Policy Committee, Deputy Roy Daza, presented the draft agreement in rejection of the decision of the Congress of Deputies of the Kingdom of Spain at the ordinary session of 17 September, to ignore the victory of the national leader, last July 28.
