In Colombia, a psychologist working for the social reintegration of former FARC members, as well as a social leader were killed.

A psychologist working with the Colombian Agency for the Reincorporation and the Normalization (ARN) for the social reintegration of former guerrilla fighters of the FARC (Colombian Revolutionary Armed Forces), Viviana Muñoz Marin, and social and communal leader Ignacio Gomez Avila, were killed on Wednesday in the department of Caqueta, according to official police reports.

"The national government deeply regrets the death of Viviana Muñoz Marin, a psychologist of the ARN that accompanied the process of reincorporation of the ex-members of the FARC in the Department of Caqueta," stated the Colombian Police force in a press release.

The ARC also released a statement in which it was specified that Muñoz Marin had been working with the entity for four months, for the reintegration of former FARC guerrilla members into society, in the municipality of San Vicente del Caguan in Caqueta, Colombia.

Muñoz's body was found with several bullet wounds next to the social leader Ignacio Gómez Ávila in a wooded area of the municipality of San Vicente del Caguán. Muñoz went missing on Tuesday.

"The Agency for the Reincorporation and Normalization deeply regrets the death of Viviana Muñoz Marín, a psychologist of the entity that accompanied the process of reincorporation of the ex-members of the Farc-EP in the Department of Caquetá," stated the agency.

"These facts should be investigated by the competent authorities to establish the possible causes and identify those responsible for the death," demanded the agency.

At least 400 social leaders have been killed since the State of Colombia signed the peace agreement with the former Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), whose demobilized fighters are also being targeted in the country alongside indigenous leaders.
